This geological field guide to the Dingle Peninsula includes detailed and richly illustrated descriptions and interpretations of localities where key elements of Dingle geology can be examined. A new 1:50,000 bedrock geological map of the peninsula is also included.

We collaborated with our colleagues in the British Geological Survey and the Geological Survey of Northern Ireland to publish a summary map for Britain and Ireland, derived from our respective national maps. The map is intended primarily as a teaching resource and geological summary for international projects.

This All-Ireland Quaternary geology map at 1:500,000 scale is an amalgamation of Quaternary maps from Ireland and Northern Ireland, a joint project between GSI and GSNI.

Our Geological Mapping Programme has teamed up with Prof Bernard Anderson to produce a special sheet (1:12,000) of his previously unpublished detailed bedrock mapping of Rosguill Peninsula, Donegal.

Groundwater hardness arises mainly from the solution of limestone into groundwater. Many Irish industrial and domestic water users are concerned about the hardness of their water and invest in water softeners to counteract the impacts of hard water.
