66th Irish Geological Research Meeting 2023

General information

The 66th Irish Geological Research Meeting will be held in the Ulster Museum, Belfast, over the weekend of 3-5 March 2023. The format will be similar to previous years, with guest speakers on the Friday and Saturday evenings, and general sessions over the weekend, finishing by 15.30 on Sunday.

Registration, as always, is free.

Conference meal

There will be a conference meal on the Saturday evening in the Ulster Museum. Cost will be of the order of £30/€35. If you would like to come to the meal then please book this in addition to conference registration. Payment will be taken upon arrival at the Ulster Museum.

Presentations and abstract submission

Those wishing to present at the meeting should start thinking about an abstract, to be submitted by Monday 30 January.

There will be four categories of presentation to choose from:15-minute talks, 5-minute talks, posters and 5-minute videos.

Consider whether you need 15 minutes to get your message across. Preference will be given to new speakers and/or significantly new research. For many projects it is possible to deliver the key message clearly and succinctly in just 5 minutes.

Posters and videos will be available to view throughout the meeting in spaces adjacent to the lecture theatre.

The 66th IGRM has been jointly organised by the Ulster Museum (National Museums NI), Queen’s University Belfast and the Geological Survey of Northern Ireland.
