This 5 year project is developing methods for a collaborative balance between tourism and conservation in the Burren and Cliffs of Moher UNESCO Global Geopark area. There will be recommendations on the integration of existing national and international policies regarding tourism and conservation, in order to support the integration of tourism and conservation actions on the ground. Project partners include Geological Survey Ireland, Clare County Council, Failte Ireland, National Parks & Wildlife Service, National Monuments Service, Office of Public Works, Heritage Council, University College Dublin and National University Ireland Galway. GSI's contribution includes the provision of new interpretative signage throughout the Burren and Cliffs of Moher UNESCO Global Geopark. The project will be completed by December 2017.
