The results from recent field programmes to improve the Quaternary geology map of Ireland are now freely available and ready for download and use in GIS software. These map packages can be accessed from the DCCAE download page: http://www.dccae.gov.ie/en-ie/natural-resources/topics/Geological-Survey-of-Ireland/data/Pages/Data-Downloads.aspx .
The new map packages available are:

The data in the map packages include the Quaternary sediment map (delineating the different types of Quaternary sediment units), Quaternary geomorphology map (showing the landscape features that developed over the course of the Quaternary Period), field records (from outcrop and borehole locations), geophysics profile locations and laboratory results (stone-counts and PSA).
All data have been compiled for use at the scale of 1:50,000.
