This year, Geological Survey Ireland features in two episodes of the RTÉ One science show 10 Things to Know About...
10 Things to Know About... Circular Economy
On Monday 5 December at 8.30pm, Eoin McGrath (Minerals Programme) features in the episode devoted to Circular Economy. Presenters Kathriona Devereux and Jonathan McCrea investigate whether materials taken out of the ground centuries ago could contain traces of valuable minerals to help us create a more circular economy.
10 Things to Know About... Heat
On Monday 12 November at 8.30pm, Dr Sarah Blake (Geothermal Unit) features in the episode devoted to Heat. Sarah will discuss the geology behind geothermal energy, highlight projects investigating potential sources around Ireland (including a few surprising locations which have been using geothermal for decades!) and discuss how heat from the Earth could form a crucial part of Ireland’s supply and demand heating network.
