National Heritage Week, an initiative by the Heritage Council, celebrates all things heritage. It brings together communities, families, organisations, cultural institutions, academics and enthusiasts, to build awareness about the value of heritage and support its conservation.
The 2022 National Heritage Week will run from the 13 to the 21 August and this year's theme is "Sustainable Heritage and Biodiversity". National Heritage Week will also see the continued celebration of themed heritage days, when project organisers can develop specific themed activities. There will be a "Wild Child Day" on the 20 August and a "Water Heritage Day" on the 21 August.
Visit the National Heritage Week website for inspiration and see the geology themed events listed.
This timetable shows the various geological events happening around Ireland throughout the week coordinated by Geological Survey Ireland and others. It will be updated as new events are uploaded to the Heritage Week website.
