GSI & Fulbright Ireland present: Assessing Coastal Archaeology at Risk Talk

GSI & Fulbright Ireland are pleased to present Dr Jennifer Jones, Fulbright Scholar visiting GSI during 2021/2022.
Dr Jennifer Jones will be giving a talk on 'Assessing Coastal Archaeology at Risk: Integrating Interdisciplinary Science and Collaboration' at The National Museum of Ireland - Collins Barracks.

Abstract:
Coastal archaeological sites are limited and non-renewable resources that play an important informational role as tangible pieces of maritime heritage and dynamic coastal processes. However, they are highly vulnerable to increasing climate change pressures and impacts. Cultural heritage managers are working to increase understanding of these pressures, and create ways to assess, mitigate, and/or adapt to risk and change. This presentation will explore how integrating interdisciplinary data and methodologies into archaeological site assessment provides development opportunities for innovative techniques in resource prioritization.

Location: AV Room at The National Museum of Ireland - Decorative Arts & History
Date: May 26 // Time: 6 to 7 pm
