This lecture is organised by the Galway Geological Association.

The April lecture 'Mass Extinctions on the Orient Express' will be presented by Davide Gallazzi.  The talk will cover the general issue of evolution and extinction with a detailed look at the massive extinctions at the boundary Permian (Palaeozoic) – Triassic (Mesozoic) and Cretaceous (Mesozoic) – Palaeocene (Tertiary).

Davide will call on the support of Hercule Poirot to solve the mystery surrounding the causes of the above mentioned extinctions.

All welcome. Refreshments will be served from 19.30.
