Tellus involves two types of surveying – airborne geophysical surveying using a low-flying aircraft and ground-based geochemical surveying of soil, stream water and stream sediment.
The latest phase of the Tellus airborne survey will see the aircraft move into the south east of Ireland, across counties Carlow, Wexford, Wicklow and neighbouring parts of south Kildare, south east Kilkenny and Waterford. The survey began in June 2019 and was complete in September 2019.

The Tellus Geochemistry programme began fieldwork in late July 2019. The fieldwork will involve soil sample collection in predominantly rural areas across the north midlands region of Ireland. The work is to be carried out by end September 2019.
