Tellus involves two types of surveying – airborne geophysical surveying using a low-flying aircraft and ground-based geochemical surveying of soil, stream water and stream sediment.
The latest phase of the Tellus airborne survey will see the aircraft move into the south east of Ireland, across counties Carlow, Wexford, Wicklow and neighbouring parts of south Kildare, south east Kilkenny and Waterford. The survey began in June 2019 and will continue into late autumn.
