Tellus involves two types of surveying – airborne geophysical surveying using a low-flying aircraft and ground-based geochemical surveying of soil, stream water and stream sediment.
The current phase of the Tellus airborne survey is underway across south central Ireland. The survey aircraft commenced flying in this area in September 2020 and will complete flying in July 2021. Following the completion of the current survey area the aircraft will move to County Cork and neighbouring parts of Limerick, Waterford and Tipperary. The survey is due to commence in late July until September 2021. A map of the survey area can be found below.
The airborne survey block is outlined below:
The Tellus ground survey is currently underway across the Greater Dublin Area. Following its completion our soil sampling teams will move to South East Ireland, working in parts of counties Carlow, Laois, Kilkenny, Tipperary, Waterford, Wexford and Wicklow.
