Tellus involves two types of surveying – airborne geophysical surveying using a low-flying aircraft and ground-based geochemical surveying of soil, stream water and stream sediment.
The latest phase of the Tellus airborne survey will see the aircraft move into south central Ireland, across counties Laois, Tipperary, Kilkenny and neighbouring parts of Carlow, Kildare, Offaly, Cork and Waterford. The survey aircraft is expected to commence flying in September 2020.

The Tellus ground survey is due to commence soil sampling from mid-September 2020 until the end of the year, samplers will work across parts of counties Wicklow, Kildare, Laois, Carlow, Kilkenny and Wexford.
