​Sean Canney TD, Minister for Natural Resources, will lead the Irish delegation at PDAC this 1-4 March. Minister Canney will participate at the EU forum on sustainable futures and will deliver the keynote address at the Ireland business forum on Tuesday, 3 March.

The Irish minerals and mining sector was delighted to learn that the Fraser Institute, in its annual survey of mining companies for 2019 , has ranked Ireland as 2nd in its policy perception index. Some key notes included miners expressing decreased concerns over the administration and enforcing of existing regulations, the legal system and labour regulations and employment agreements. Some surveyed exploration companies noted Ireland's coordinated efforts across government departments and ministries to improve the permitting process and the creation of Geoscience Ireland and iCRAG Research Centre as encouraging to investors.
