SeaFest, Ireland's national maritime festival, takes place this year in Cork from Friday 7th June to Sunday 9th June 2019.
Come along and meet members of the INFOMAR team on-board the R.V. Celtic Explorer. Discover all about our seabed mapping efforts – from how we explore the underwater realm using high tech sonar equipment in order to discover shipwrecks, hidden landscapes and habitats for the creatures of the deep. Also keep an eye out for the R.V. Keary, part of the INFOMAR inshore survey fleet which will be in attendance. INFOMAR is the DCCAE funded national seabed mapping programme, managed jointly by Geological Survey Ireland and the Marine Institute.
SeaFest is a key part of Harnessing Our Ocean Wealth: An Integrated Marine Plan for Ireland (HOOW) and its goal of increasing participation and engagement with the sea. SeaFest also hosts the annual Our Ocean Wealth Summit and other business and research events.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
