​The 41st Annual IAH Irish Group Groundwater Conference: "Catchment Science and Management – The Role of Geoscience and Groundwater", will be held on Zoom over two half-days on Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 April 2021.

Day 1 will run from 13:30 to 17:30 and Day 2 from 09:30 to 13:30. Registration is free online through Eventbrite. Bound copies of the conference proceedings can be ordered in advance for €35 through Eventbrite when you register. The proceedings will also be available on the day as a pdf on the IAH Ireland website.

There will be a total of 14 presentations over two half-days, from consultants, academics and state agencies, as well as an Early Careers Session, with break out rooms.

On Day 1

Session 1, Catchments and the Environment, will include talks on Integrated Land and Landscape Management, Nature-based Catchment Management and a karstic lake habitat.

Session 2, Investigating and Assessing Catchment Water Quality looks at the 3rd WFD Cycle River Basin Management Plan, The Agricultural Catchments Programme, local catchment assessment, and The CatchmentCARE Project.

On Day 2

Session 3, Insights on Water Flow in Catchments, will discuss the role of groundwater in catchment functioning, blanket bogs and streamflow, and flows in a western karst terrain.

Session 4, Managing Drinking Water with a Catchment Based Approach, looks at the recast Drinking Water Directive, mitigation actions, catchment modelling of orthophosphate leakage , and catchment management in a karst environment.
