Following the formal Project Launch, the Lough Carra LIFE Project team will host an Open Day for the public at the project office, Belcarra Community Centre on Monday, May 15th from 2pm.

Information desks, displays, demonstrations, and educational talks, will be presented by some of the project team and partners.

This will include presentations from: 
  • The LIFE Project team
  • Mayo County Council
  • National Parks and Wildlife Services
  • The Department of Agriculture, Food, and the Marine
  • Lough Carra Catchment Association
  • Coillte
  • Geological Survey Ireland
  • Vincent Wildlife Trust
  • JCWL Geopark

About the Lough Carra LIFE Project

Lough Carra LIFE is a five-year project (2021 to 2026) led by Mayo County Council and funded jointly by the European Commission LIFE Programme and the Project Funding Partners. The Project aims to improve water quality and restore some of the key habitats of Lough Carra, by working with farmers, landowners, and local community groups in the catchment area.
