Tellus Border Introduction
Welcome to the Tellus Border Project Web Pages
 |
Tellus Border is a €5 million mapping project that will collect scientific data on soils, water and rocks across the six border counties - Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, Cavan, Monaghan and Louth.
Information from the project will help manage the environment and support sustainable development of our natural resources. The project is a follow-on from the Tellus project successfully completed in Northern Ireland recently. |
Project Partners The cross-border Tellus Border project is a joint initiative between the Geological Survey of Ireland (GSI), the Geological Survey of Northern Ireland (GSNI), the Dundalk Institute of Technology and Queen’s University, Belfast.
The project has been funded by the INTERREG IVA development programme of the European Regional Development Fund, which is managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB). This is the largest of the latest awards under the Environment theme of INTERREG IVA and is part funded by the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government and Northern Ireland’s Department of the Environment. |
