This television series was commissioned by GSI and aired on RTE in 1995 and again in 2005. The video (later upgraded to DVD) and complimentary booklet was published as part of the Geological Survey of Ireland's celebration of 150 years of service to the Irish state. The dvd describes the geology of Ireland, beautifully illustrated and explained by one of Irelands most reknowned experts and greatest communicators in earth science, Dr.Pádhraig Kennan.

Copies of this dvd together with a simplified map of the Geology of Ireland, produced by GSI, were distributed to all secondary schools throughout the country in support of the new Geography Curriculum. The reproduction of the video/dvd was kindly sponsored by a consortium of resource companies led by Marathon Oil Corporation.
