The "Explore" series is a series of tours, suitable for motorists or cyclists, ranging in length from 80 to 180km. The routes are designed to take you through areas of scenic interest. The guides contain a varied mixture of descriptions of each area's geological history, landscape, items of cultural interest. History and mythology are also included in a text which is accompanied by colour plates, and a simplified map showing the route taken by each tour.

The Explore series is produced under the “Landscapes from Stone” brand by the Geological Survey of Ireland and the Geological Survey of Northern Ireland
