Minerals Inventory (MinLocs)
Minerals Programme maintains a computerized database which contains summary information for over 5,450 known mineral localities in the State. The database fields include map sheet numbers, national grid coordinates, the townland name (and locality name if different), locality type, mineral type(s), sources of information and a brief description of the site.
For many of the localities, especially occurrences of non-metallic minerals, additional paper information may be available.
Access to the database is provided via enquiries to staff within the Minerals Section.
The cost of accessing the database is dependent on the number of sites output from a search. Both paper and digital outputs are available and the latter can be provided in a variety of formats and via e-mail.
