Success of Irish offshore research is recognised
The success of Ireland’s seabed mapping programme is being spotlighted at a major international conference in Oslo this week. This mapping programme, called INFOMAR, is one of the most comprehensive of its type and is currently surveying coastal areas which are important for establishing renewable energy projects as well as to ensure shipping lanes are safely charted. It is funded from the National Development Plan and managed jointly by the Geological Survey of Ireland (GSI) and the Marine Institute. Click here for further details.
