GSI announces 2007 photo competition
GSI holds an annual photo competition and we welcome photos on any aspect of Irish or worldwide geology or landscape.  The competition is named after George Victor Du Noyer, who served as a geologist with the Geological Survey of Ireland from 1847 to 1869.

The Gobbins, Antrim - courtesy 2006 entrant, Robert StewartGeorge was a skilled field artist whose numerous sketches and pictures, with their combination of artistic skill and technical accuracy, were the “field photographs” of their day. This competition seeks to encourage the same blend of artistic and scientific skills through the medium of photography.

GSI welcomes all aspiring photographers to enter the 2007 competition - for further details on  the competition please click here.
