3rd Irish Geomorphology Scientific Workshop hosted in the Geological Survey of Ireland
The 3rd Irish Geomorphology Scientific Workshop was hosted in the Geological Survey of Ireland (GSI) on the 25th and 26th November 2015 with the theme of extreme events (a geomorphological perspective).

The IGGy workshop was followed by a themed IQUA meeting on November 27th, also at the GSI and also on ‘Extreme Events’ (a Quaternary perspective).

The workshop brought together geomorphologists from Ireland, UK and the US with a view to sharing research and fostering interdisciplinary communication and collaboration. Although there was a strong emphasis on presenting research, the workshop also included a pre-workshop postgraduate symposium on career guidance for early career researchers.

The IGGy group formed in spring 2013 and has since been a platform for numerous new research collaborations and held two previous meetings. The 3rd Irish Geomorphology Scientific Workshop was particularly successful in the number of attendees and the quality and wide range of presentations, showcasing how the group is consistently growing in the number of members and fields of expertise.
