Human life on Earth depends on an adequate and sustainable supply of water. However, serious changes underway threaten global water resources. Among these changes are the effects of climate change and a growing population. This talk will present an international perspective on the impacts of these changes and strategies on how we can adapt.

 

Pat is Executive Director of the American Geological Institute. He has been an influential writer on groundwater resources and the role of geoscientists in their development. He was formerly Acting Director and Associate Director for Geology of the United States Geological Survey. He has worked on a wide range of geological issues of strategic importance to society.
