This year the John Joly Memorial Lecture will be given by leading palaeontologist Prof. Phil Donoghue FRS (University of Bristol) with a talk entitled “Molecular clocks and the timescale of animal evolutionary history”. Phil’s overarching theme of research concerns the relationship between development and evolution, and the role that palaeontological data play in fleshing out the skeletal framework of organismal evolution.

The lecture will be held in the Schrödinger Lecture Theatre, Fitzgerald Building, Trinity College, Dublin at 6 pm on Friday 3 February. The talk will be followed by a wine reception.
